Art Lab Workshop Series: Linda Kalianteris

“Linda Kalianteris, also known as The Painting Greek, is a talented and highly regarded Commissioned Oil Painter, Muralist and Fine Art Instructor based in Unionville, Ontario. With years of experience, Linda is known for her vibrant, breathtaking landscapes and captivating still life paintings. As a Fine Art Instructor at the prestigious Varley Art Gallery, Linda is passionate about sharing her skills with others. Her artwork is marked by a deep connection to colour, form and emotion, creating visually stunning pieces that resonate with art lovers and collectors alike”.

Please bring your outdoor painting gear and dress for the weather with hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes and your painting clothes. Please bring your own lunch. Bathroom on site.

Location is the picturesque property with beautiful gardens, landscape, a chicken coop, a lake with flora and fauna and dock. Gorgeous grounds worthy of painting!

All mediums and skills are welcome. The demo will be in oil, we will discuss topics that apply to all mediums: setup, preparation, storytelling through painting, feeling the environment, composition, colour, light/shadow etc.

This Plein Air workshop will be 6-hour sessions structured as follows:

  • MORNING: Introduction & Demo: Site scouting, preparation, and an oil painting demonstration.
  • Break for lunch or paint through
  • AFTERNOON: Painting Session: Approximately 3 hours of assistance as needed and painting on your own.
  • Closing Critique: A group discussion focused on a positive celebration of successes, technical tips, and growth strategies. Ending the experience on a positive and uplifting note!
