Artist Information
Arts Society King (ASK) invites artists to submit up to two artworks for the 2026 Fall Art Show and Sale, a juried exhibition. Works should show your creative interpretation of the show’s theme, “Change is in the Air,” interpreted literally, emotionally, socially, or even invisibly.
This is an opportunity to depict what change means to you, inside us or around us. From shifting skies, storms, or seasons, to a sense of anticipation that something is about to happen, to moments of transition and growth, when something is ending, beginning or becoming something new.
Submission Requirements
- Artwork Accepted: Fine art (wall art only)
- Digital submissions open June 1 and close August 31, 2026. Each submission must include:
- Completed online entry form
- Uploaded image(s)
- A 50 word description explaining how the artwork reflects the theme
- Maximum of two artworks per artist
- Maximum size: 40″ × 40″
- Completion date of each piece
- Entry fee: $30 (non‑refundable). Payment must accompany submission. Note: Artists who are not a member of Arts Society King may apply and if their artwork is selected, will be required to pay a $50 membership fee, and membership will be valid through 2027.
Jurying & Awards
- This is a juried exhibition; works will be evaluated on relevance to the theme.
- The jurors’ decisions are final and artists will be notified of jury decisions by September 18, 2026.
- Awards include:
- Mayor’s Choice Award – $100 (announced at the opening reception)
- People’s Choice Award – $100 (voted on by the public, announced after the show ends)
Artwork Preparation
- All work must be finished and ready to hang, including:
- No sawtooth centre mounts
- D‑rings on each side and wire
- Gallery-wrapped canvas or framed if not 1.5 inch depth
Delivery & Pickup
- Drop-off: October 6–9, 2026 (during KHCC opening hours: 10AM-4PM)
- Pickup (for unsold work): November 14 or November 17, 2026 (during KHCC opening hours: 10AM-4PM). We are unfortunately unable to keep any artwork beyond November 17.
- A 20% commission will be retained on all sales.
