Cabernet & Canvas Call to Artists

Cabernet & Canvas 2026

CALL TO ARTISTS

We are very excited to announce that Arts Society King’s premier fundraiser, Cabernet & Canvas, is now an annual event and will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at the beautiful Sherwood Farm, 12485 Concession 7, King City, from 1 pm to 5 pm. It will be an afternoon that combines live painting, live music, a silent auction and wine tasting. Tickets are now available for $60 including wine tasting ($30 for non-alcohol tickets) and guests will each have one vote to vote for their favourite artist. The winner will be decided by popular vote.

Artists are asked to respond to this call by no later than August 1, 2026. Up to 25 artists will participate on a first-come, first-served basis. This opportunity is open to ASK members only.

For those artists participating in Cabernet & Canvas, we offer:

  • 50% of the sale of your artwork created that day via silent auction (minimum $50 guaranteed). Any paintings that do not sell on the day of the event will be purchased by ASK at the minimum bid price and become property of ASK. We reserve the right to sell or donate the paintings at future auctions or fundraisers.
  • Chance at $200 grand prize
  • Free entry
  • Exposure and promotion through ASK
  • Two $30 complimentary tickets (does not include wine tasting)

Artists will be required to do a site visit to the property on either September 3 or 4 (any time between 1 pm and 4 pm; if this time does not work, arrangements can be made for an alternate date) to identify and photograph where they would like to paint. We will create a large map for visitors to identify where the artists are located throughout the property. On the day of the event, artists can arrive up to one hour early (12 pm) to set up prior to the start of the event (1 pm) and will have 2.5 hours to complete their artwork.

Details of the Live Painting Contest:
